Run Half Marathon is a cool little app. You can set up test and access different exercises such a cadence drills and Speed Interval Training among others. The information for your workout is collected by GPS and this app can be used outside or on a treadmill.

Run Half Marathon even lets you know when a halfway point arrives so you can turn around.

Suggestions on how to get started.

First, just get out and walk. Start with a 5 minute walk, and increase the walk time by five minutes for seven days. By the end of the week, you should be walking for 35 minutes.

Second, continue walking for 35 minutes for the next week. This first two weeks is to get your body adjusted to working out.

Third, Using a treadmill, elliptical, or a planned route from one if the apps above, jog one mile until your body is comfortable jogging it. At this point, add a mile. Keep this process up until you are running three miles.
